Scene listings with songs (Revised)

Titles: (Night) 1800's feet (man) walking, El Manana by The Gorillaz. Fade out.

Scene One: (Continuation)Twig snaps. Hell Above Water by Curve. Man spins, begins to run. He is chased by vampire. Man jumps over hedge, PK rolling to a stop in a crouch. He is in a churchyard, he races to the church only to be caught by vamp. Scene ends with camera shot of the night sky.

Scene Two: Day. Boy walking(Gabriel). Shots of feet clad in Converse, camera works it's way up to his face. Narrative about town legend.

Scene Three: Introducing boys sibling/friend(Eden). Meet old man(Reuben), who warns them not to go out at night. He knows about the vamps, and tells people. They think he's mad. Narration.

Scene Four: Night-time. Shots of movement in the dark. The two friends are making their way back to their homes. They pass a tree that has three long, deep gashes marked into it. They ignore it, carrying on their way. As the second friend makes it home, a low hiss is heard, and a shot of dark, shadowed eyes peering out from a hiding place closes the scene.

Scene Five: School. The school has a tall, imposing fence. The kids joke about it, until one kid mysteriously remarks how it is to keep things out, not in.

Scene Six: A hunt, night-time. Shadowy figures follow a young jogger, running after her. She is oblivious, IPod plugged in. It is playing loud rap music. The figures dart along beside her, hiding behind trees and other foliage. A wide-shot shows two of the figures directly behind her, then a close-up shows a mouth wide open with razor-sharp teeth and two long, shining fangs moving closer to the joggers sweaty neck. A curtain twitches, showing the old man from before. He looks at the scene, crosses himself and closes the curtain. While the shot is still on the curtain, we hear a scream. End shot: an IPod clatters noisily to the ground, still playing music. One drop of blood drips lazily onto the edge of the screen.

Scene Seven: A news sign swings in a breeze. It reads: 'Disappearance Number Six: A Coincidence?'. The two friends walk past it, discussing how weird it is. They near a churchyard. The old man is sitting on a bench, and speaks up when they pass. He says 'It's happening again. They're back.' and the kids sit down by him, asking what. He tells them about the vampires. They think he's nuts.

Scene Eight: (Night-time)Friend/sibling departs from the house after an argument with the boy. She is followed by shadowy figures, who wait until she is in a small park to strike. The boy, who is chasing after the girl to apologize, finds her lying in the park, her eyes glazed and her skin white. Song: My Immortal by Evanescence.

Scene Nine: (Continued song.) Funeral. A vicar says prayers at the front of the church, while the boy stares at the casket that holds his friend. At the back of the church sits the old man. As the boy leaves they make eye contact. The old man nods.

Scene Nine: Boy visits old man to talk about vamps. Generally depressing. Reuben says something to anger Gabriel, who grabs Reuben’s car keys and storms out of the house.

Scene Ten: In car. Reuben is in there, too. The boy yells at him, and pulls out of the drive quickly. He drives to a place he doesn’t recognise, and staggers out of the car. A vampire drops from a nearby ledge and tells him to leave. Gabriel gets angry and try’s to hurt the vampire. The vampire disappears.

Scene Eleven: Reuben tells Gabriel all about vampires.

Scene Twelve: They go home.

Scene Thirteen: The vampires talk with Reuben, and then kill him.Scene Fourteen: Wrap-up. “I’ve realised she’ll never be back to see me again. Life moves on – no one lasts forever.”End credits: Emergency by Paramore.

Scene Six, Jogger

Shot: Trainers running. A blonde jogger is running rhythmically, her feet pounding to a beat as her pont tail swings. Shot: runner's sweaty neck. The song Ghetto Gospel by TuPac is playing in her ears, from an iPod. Three shadowy figures are following her rapidly, darting through the shadows. She is oblivious. A wide shot shows two of the figures behind her, as a third drops out of a tree. The camera returns to the runner's neck, but this time a vampire's mouth is open wide behind it, fangs bared. Shot switches to Reuben, who lives across the street. He pushes his curtain back and watches the first vampire sink it's teeth into the back of the joggers neck, it's arm pinning the victim close. He turns away from the scene, letting the curtain fall shut, and crosses himself. He walks away as a shot is heard. Shot cuts back to the street. An iPod falls to the floor silently. A drop of blood falls onto the edge of it lazily.

Scene Four, Scratches

The two friends get up and leave, and the old man walks off the opposite direction. Gabriel and Eden talk as they walk, but it's too low for us to hear. Sounds: Footsteps, a heartbeat, Paramore -- Ignorance (speaking part, quiet, in background). The friends pass a tree with three long gashes carved into it. They ignore it. By the orphanage, Eden opens the door and takes a deep breath, looking to Gabriel for support before crossing the thresh hold and closing the door. Gabriel stares at the door for a moment, then turns and leaves. Camera switches to a viewpoint hidden in the bushes, and a low hiss is heard. A brief flash of a pair of dark eyes closes the shot.

Scene Three, Old Man

Gabriel carries on walking through Moulton, stopping at a tall house and ringing the bell. Sounds: Children skrieking, adults yelling.
A girl opens the door, and beams at Gabriel.
Gabriel: (Narration) Meet Eden. An orphan, she's the smartest person I know.
Eden: (To Gabriel) Took your sweet time! There's fifteen bloody kids in there, and you take your time doing what?
Gabriel: Sorry. I was just... thinking.
Eden rolls eyes. Both leave orphanage and go to sit in the park. It's nearing dusk. Both are lying on grass, looking at the stars. An old man hobbles up to them; he's wearing tatty clothes and has a beard.
Old Man: Hey! Hey! Get home, children! It's not safe to be out this time of day -- quick, before the sun turns it's protective back on us!
Gabriel: (Narration) This is Reuben, the towns resident nutcase. He believes the vampire stories. Eden thinks he's creepy -- it's true, he's a complete weirdo.
Eden: (Mutters)Come on, let's get out of here.
Reuben: Good girl! You don't want to die to the hands of demons, child!
Gabriel: (Still narrating) Completely, absolutely mad.

Scene One, Attack (Revised)

Location: St. Margaret's church, Kings Lynn

Setting: Dusk.

Song: El Manana by The Gorillaz.Credits. A pair of feet clad in rough, medieval shoes are walking. As the credits end, the feet stop and a footfall is heard. The camera pans up his body as the song Hell Above the Water by Curve starts. The man begins to run desperately, scared. He is followed by what looks like a liquid shadow in human form (a vampire), that races along beside him. The man vaults over a church wall, rolling out of the fall. We catch our first glimpse of the vampire as it jumps the wall after the man, falling on it's feet in a crouch. The man gets up and runs towards the church door, but only inches away the vampire catches up and grabs the man, pulling him close and biting his throat. The man thrashes, then falls still. The vampire drops him, steps over him and walks away, disappearing into the shadows. A close up shot of the dead mans blank eyes, then the camera pans up and settles on the night sky.
